Alfonso near an ancient Amazonian tree
As you can see it was hot and humid. It does not take much walking around before you are drenched in perspiration. Behind Alfonso is one of the many large, old trees with buttress roots we came upon. About half of the Amazon trees that are larger than 4 inches in diameter are about 300 years old or more, some can be 1,000 years old. So how old do you think the tree behind Alfonso is?
